Blueberry ideas

Breakfast

  • Add plump blueberries to yoghurt and juice for a healthy smoothie
  • Drop a good handful onto cereal, muesli or porridge
  • Spread a warm English muffin with softened light cream cheese and top with fresh blueberries – a brilliant start to the day!

Lunch

  • For a midday boost, try something new: add blueberries to a savoury salad of baby spinach, red onion, slivered almonds and grilled chicken
  • On a bed of salad greens, sprinkle some fetta, strawberries and delicious blueberries tossed with a balsamic dressing

Dinner

  • Add something different to roast turkey or pork. Make a simple sauce by simmering fresh blueberries with fruit juice or water.
  • Combine juicy blueberries with red onion, red capsicum chilli, fresh coriander, a splash of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Combine with grilled chicken or fish for flavours that complement each other perfectly

Dessert

  • Blueberry pie, blueberry muffins or blueberry crumble
  • Sprinkle blueberries over creamy ice cream, yoghurt, custard or fruit sorbet
  • Freeze blueberries and give to children as a fun summer treat
  • Float jugs of water with slices of lime and blueberries for that decorative sweet tasting refreshment.
